Spa within a spa

Artesian spas developed the “spa within a spa” design to correct the overflow issue found in traditionally made spas. With traditionally built spas, as more people join in, the water level rises and some of the water must be drained out or it will overflow. Artesian’s Island Spa design added an additional 2” splash zone to the interior rim, preventing the need for draining water before more people could use it. So you don’t need to worry about draining and refilling the spa.

Patented Helix Jets

Artesian Spas features a revolutionary breakthrough in hydrotherapy jetting that makes use of the timeless concept of the helix, a three-dimensional, double-spiral form. This patented jet, aptly named the Helix, has been designed to provide a truly remarkable hydro-massage exclusive to Artesian Spas. Engineered from the concept of the double helix, the jets use a right-directional spiral on the inside of the cylinder. This causes water to spiral out in a twisting manner, providing jet pulsation and massaging pressure.

The two largest Helix jets, named ProHelix, provide a high volume of water to massage large muscles in the body. The midsize Helix, called TheraHelix, is strategically placed in small groups in the spa to massage muscles such as calf, hamstring, deltoids, biceps, and triceps. The smallest Helix jet, the AccuHelix, is placed in large groupings to massage larger regions of the body, such as the entire back. As a complete system, four to five different sizes of Helix jets are featured in every Artesian Spa model.

Ergonomic Design

When designing our spas we don’t use the latest 3D modeling software – in fact, we don’t even use a mouse. We use such blunt instruments as chisels, sand blocks, files, and putty knives. Indeed, we take pride in just how primitive our design process is. We create our molds the old fashioned way – we sculpt them by hand. The creation of the beautiful, organic forms that grace our spas is far more art than science, and the intimate human contact with our process insures that our great looks are built for the human form.

At Artesian Spas, our experts applied ergonomic seating designs, both lounge and chair, to the interior of our spas. Each seat helps maintain an even weight distribution and correct posture when enjoying the powerful massage therapy of the Helix Jets. The bench seats allow you to swivel to not only massage your back, but your sides and arms too.

Island displays

The dashboard layout of spa controls makes it easy for users to control the spa while bathing. User-friendly menus guide the user to different options. Easily set the temperature, lighting preferences, and turn on the massage jets from one easy-to-use control panel.

Platinum displays

The sleek and stylish topside panel incorporates preprogrammed buttons that are easy to use and ensure a personalized bathing experience. A large, easy to read display uses recognizable icons that provide feedback on tub operation, including maintenance reminders and service alerts. Patented Piezo button technology, which requires no moving parts, translates to greater reliability and longevity so you can enjoy your tub for years to come. The topside panel is fully integrated with the control system for ease of use and enhanced reliability.

Platinum Elite displays

This user-friendly keypad provides a maximized viewing area with an adjustable backlight. It features highly responsive, rubberized keys that provide an audible confirmation when keys are pressed. Its menu-driven interface features use of visible icons, making control of the spa simple for the spa user.

Cabinet

Corinthian Redwood Cabinetry
Artesian Spas only uses pressure-treated lumber frames for all our spas, to support the spa and to serve as the base for our beautiful, long-lasting Corinthian Redwood cabinet. Redwood is known for its long straight grain and warm color, excellent decay resistance and ease of workability. It is one of the best, if not the VERY best, natural materials for outdoor building projects.

“Clear All Heart Redwood” is a the finest architectural heartwood grade, and is used as a standard when you order a spa in Corinthian Redwood.

Plumbing

Our spas are built from the ground up to the highest standards. We start by building our frames using only pressure-treated lumber on top of a full ABS base. This solid foundation is covered with our beautiful, durable cabinets. The space between the maintenance-free cabinet and the structure is filled with insulating foam. This full-foam insulation provides the most efficient heat retention rating available in any spa, and it also dramatically increases the lifespan of the spa. It makes the whole structure stronger, quieter, and more durable, in addition to protecting the plumbing from unnecessary wear due to vibration. We top it all off with our durable, hand-sculpted acrylic shell with our lifetime Diamondbond backing. Our jets rotate on bearings rather than plastic for ease of adjustment, and our pillows are a dyed-through, closed-cell foam to prevent cracking, discoloration, and water absorption. We build a spa the same way a good house is built – to last!

Pumps

The revolutionary switchless motors used in Artesian Spas drive high-water volume pumps that are long-lasting and virtually trouble-free. The switchless motor design does not require a mechanical switch to take it from the start position to run position, which greatly increases the efficiency of the motor. It also diminishes operating noise, such as the vibration and electrical noise heard with conventional motors. An added bonus of the switchless motor is this design requires from 10 to 16 fewer parts than a conventional motor, which means many potentially problematic components have been eliminated. The life of our switchless motor can be measured in tens of years instead of hundreds of hours.

Spa covers

The foam cores are virgin, polystyrene foam tapered from 4″ to 2.5″ to allow water to run off. Each foam piece is then grooved and fitted with a galvanized steel channel for support along the hinge. Each foam core is then sealed with a 4 mil polyethylene sheeting to help prevent water absorption. Your spa cover will withstand the effects of sun and weather, saving energy with lower total cost of ownership.

LED

The addition of a beautiful LED lighting system to your spa illuminates the texture and detail of the spa’s interior, as well as bringing to life the spa cabinet. These optional LED light systems can be set on one favorite color, or the colors can slowly fade into one another, creating a truly spectacular light show.

Marine-Grade Stereo System

With your own Artesian spa in your backyard, total escape is within reach every day. An Artesian Symphony stereo system is a perfect addition to complete your luxurious retreat. The sound system buff will appreciate the Artesian Symphony Stereo with MP3 adapter, CD changer, sub-woofer and 4 speakers. The LCD panel is user-friendly and controls the stereo. If you want good sound without all the gizmos, a radio receiver with MP3 adapter and four speakers is available.

Waterfall

Listen to the soothing sound of falling water while you relax with a powerful massage. The 20-inch Cascade water feature, now available on most Artesian Spas, adds a beautiful, soothing touch to your spa. The LED lighting creates a stunning “curtain of light” as the water cascades into the spa. This waterfall, which has adjustable water control, flows over and down the filter area.

Pillowfall

Every Platinum and Platinum Elite spa comes standard with the serenity-enhancing pillowfall water feature. Pillowfalls provide a constantly available source of visual and auditory tranquility. Water pours from the spa pillow, creating a soothing waterfall with all its tranquil effects. Simply enjoy the serene sound of the falling water or nestle under and feel the warm water sweep down your neck and back. Plus, with the optional LED lighting systems, the Pillowfall is infused with LED light.

Footblasters

Treat yourself to the ultimate foot massage with the revolutionary new Footblasters. This innovative design features either one or two powerful jets that relieve tightness and relax muscles, melting away tension and pain in a matter of minutes. One soothing moment enjoying the Footblasters and you will agree that it is superior to any other foot massage.

ProGuard cover

The ProGuard cover adds insulation value to the spa in a region of extreme snow and cold. ProGuard covers add approximately two inches of insulation above the standard cover. Relax, knowing the spa is safe and the heat is insulated, even in severe weather conditions.

Ozone

• Ozone purifies water faster than chlorine and leaves no chemical by product
• Ozone will not irritate eyes or skin and is gentle to spa equipment
• The ozonator takes in surrounding oxygen and turns it into O3, which is then shot into the spa water with the Mazzei injector. The ozone then goes to work naturally destroying bacteria

In the quantities needed for water purification, ozone has a mild odor and no color. It doesn’t irritate humans or damage equipment. Ozone purifies water and air very quickly and efficiently — 3,000 times faster than chlorine. Ozone has no by-products except oxygen. In contrast, chlorine leaves a chemical by-product called hypochloric acid and additional salts in water applications.

Purification

Instead of injecting ozone into the spa water, as the ozonator does, the ProPure mixing chamber produces ozone in a separate chamber, which isolates the spa water and ozone together. This mixing chamber more efficiently destroys bacteria that may be present in the water. The ozone-purified water is cycled back into the spa and more water is brought into the chamber. This cycle gradually brings all spa water through the mixing chamber for purification. This process greatly reduces the possibility of corrosion to the spa cover caused by ozone, as well as odor sometimes caused by ozone that is injected into spa water. When the ProPure mixing chamber is used in conjunction with Nature2 technology, the spa water exceeds EPA’s standards for bottled drinking water.

Microfiltration removes contaminants such as dirt, metals and oil by passing the water through a microporus membrane. Larger particles are trapped in the upper layer and smaller particles, in the 1-5 micron size, are trapped in the lower part of the composite. The pleated filter has exceptional dirt-holding capacity and low-pressure drop. It retains its shape and is an excellent water filter. The polyester construction resists most chemicals.

Nature

The breakthrough technology of Nature2 uses a uniquely patented mineral process that kills bacteria on contact and is faster than chlorine. Because it’s powered by water flow, there’s no electricity and no moving parts. It reduces the chemical consumption and the time you spend caring for your spa. Beautiful, long-lasting rock cabinetry adds years of maintenance-free life to your spa. Maintenance-free cabinetry will not rot, rust, warp, deteriorate or require replacement. Panels are made of a durable, synthetic material that can withstand the harshest weather conditions, including snow, humidity, rain, sleet, and heat. This all-weather durable, fade-resistant and stain-resistant rock cabinet requires no painting or staining. Easily clean up these cabinets with soap and water, if necessary.
